A solid knowledge of music theory fosters a greater understanding of repertoire and music history which is valuable for any instrument. Private and group theory classes are available for students who would like to gain greater insights into the workings behind the pieces they are learning, as well as those who are working through the Royal Conservatory of Music's Piano curriculum.
Students of all ages and levels of experience are welcome! Whether you want to just learn piano for your own enjoyment or would like to work towards Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) examinations, the studio offers fun, engaging lessons that create well-rounded pianists.
Students explore the techniques and inner workings of film and video game music in small group classes to appreciate why the music makes them feel a certain way. Classes include introductions to composers' techniques, as well as listening to music from films and games, watching video clips, and discussing connections between music and images.
